Tanzania                     Feb. 20 - March 4, 2023

This photo tour hits many of the highlights of Tanzania.

We'll start in Tarangire National Park where we'll warm our shutter fingers up while we photograph the park's plentiful elephants.

From there we'll head into the iconic Ngorongoro Crater and spend a full day chasing the light and capturing images of some of the approximate 30K animals that call the crater home.

From there we head into Ndutu - rich with big cats - lions, leopards, & cheetah.  Ndutu will be rich with wildebeest and zebra as well and they they will be in the middle of calving season.  This makes for some exciting action.

We end in the Serengeti where we'll continue our search of epic images and beautiful landscapes.  There is no place like the Serengeti for safari!

DAY 6 (February 25, 2023)
We have an early departure as we'll head down into the Ngorongoro Crater - home to app. 25,000 animals in an area of about 100 square miles.  We'll spend the majority of the day in the crater.  Late afternoon we'll head to our camp in Ndutu.  Overnight at Elwai Camp.  (B, L, D)

DAY 7 (February 26, 2023)
Today we'll spend our time on game drives in the Ndutu area.  Ndutu is known for all the big cats.  This time of year is extra special because it is calving season for wildebeest which brings a lot of action for photographers.  In Ndutu we are able to go off-road to track/trail the wildlife - this makes our jobs as photographers a bit easier and provides some wonderful image making opportunities.  Overnight at Elwai Camp.  (B, L, D)

DAY 8 (February 27, 2023)
Today we spend the entire day on game drives in the Ndutu area.  We will do another group image review for anyone that wants to participate.  Overnight at Elwai Camp.  (B,L, D)

DAY 9 (February 28, 2023)
Our final day in the Ndutu area.  We come to off-road, document the calving action and look for great cat action.  We'll also visit a Maasai village today.  Overnight at Elwai Camp.  (B,L, D)

DAY 10 (March 01, 2023)

Today we depart camp and game drive into The Serengeti.  The endless plains of the Serengeti are where we'll spend our last 2 days of safari.  The Serengeti is a World Heritage Site teeming with wildlife: over 2 million ungulates, 4,000 lions, 1,000 leopard, 550 cheetahs and some 500 bird species inhabit an area about 5,800 square miles - about twice the size of Yellowstone National Park in the USA.  Overnight at Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge.  (B, L, D)

DAY 11 (March 02, 2023)

We'll spend the full day on game drives in the Serengeti looking for images we have not captured yet and just taking in the natural beauty.  Overnight at Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge.  (B, L, D)

DAY 12 (March 03, 2023)

Today we prepare to depart Tanzania.  We'll game drive to the airstrip for our 11AM flight back to Arusha.  Upon arrival (app. Noon) at Arusha we'll head to our day rooms at Rivertrees Country Inn where we'll have about 5 hours to relax, repack, and get cleaned up for our flights home.  We'll also have a 1 hour group image review for anyone that wants to participate.  We head to the airport about 6PM to catch our flights home.  Overnight on plane.  (B, L)

Day 13 (March 04, 2023)

Those returning to the USA should arrive home today depending on flights and layovers.
