Tour Itinerary

September 15-16, 2019 | Fly from USA to Milan

Arrive in Milan and transfer to Venice via train.  After arrival in Venice and a brief time to relax, meet for our first photo shoot: an afternoon walk along the many canals of Venice and environs.  Tonight we’ll enjoy an evening shoot at one of several pre-selected locations (St. Mark’s, etc.,) working Blue Hour shots.  L/D

September 17, 2019 | Venice

Today we’ll spend time working shots in Venice in the AM and again in the later day but in between we’ll take a private water taxi to Burano to enjoy the charm of the villages.  Hotel in Venice.  B/L/D

September 18-21, 2019 | Florence and other areas in Tuscany

After our last morning shoot in Venice and breakfast we’ll head to the mainland and train to Florence.

Over the next 4 days/nights we’ll explore the best of Florence, Pisa, Lucca, & more.

In Florence we’ll wander the narrow side streets, shoot the Duomo (Cathedral), visit awesome interiors of chapels, and work the Blue Hour from Piazza Michelangelo which overlooks Florence and the Duomo.  Tickets to museums in Florence are NOT included in the tour as photography is not allowed without a special permit.

In Pisa we’ll wander the town and shoot the Field of Miracles (Leaning Tower & Cathedral) in several different lighting situations – morning, night, Blue Hour, etc.

From Pisa we’ll day trip to Volterra and Lucca – two of the most photogenic locations in the area.  Volterra is a walled town with medieval and Renaissance buildings, a Roman theater, and Etruscan sites.  It's one of Tuscany's most evocative hill towns but has far fewer tourists than nearby hill towns.  The Roman theater, Forum, Baths, Piazza dei Priori – one of the oldest in Tuscany, The Duomo, and the medieval walls and gates will give us plenty to shoot.

Lucca is another Tuscan medieval walled town.  The wall is so well preserved that we’ll be able to walk around the entire city and shoot from the wall.  There are awesome churches, Piazzas, and beautiful calm streets, alleys, and street scenes ripe with photography.  B/L/D

September 22-24, 2019 | Cinque Terre

After an early breakfast we’ll catch our train from Pisa to Monterosso al Mare and our adventure on The Cinque Terre begins!  The Cinque Terre is a collection of 5 main towns/villages that hug the coast line and are connected by milk run trains.  Over the next 3 days and nights we’ll shoot the best of Vernazza, Manarola, Corniglia, and more.  Blue Hour, sunrises, sunsets, street scenes, and landscapes are the order of the day for the next 3 days.  B/L/D

September 25-27, 2019 | Amalfi Coast

We’ll get an early start on our trip to Sorrento where we’ll make our home base while we wander the Amalfi Coast for the next 3 days.  Here we will work the light and best weather and shoot the coast, visit secret gardens, venture to the island of Capri for a half day, and we’ll also make photo stops in Sorrento, Positano, Ravello, and Amalfi city.  The Amalfi Coast dazzles with mysterious grottos, craggy cliffs with picturesque villages clinging to them, and shimmering bays.  We will photograph them all.  B/L/D

September 28-29, 2019 | Rome

We will take the train to Rome and take up our rooms about 500 meters from The Colosseum.  For the next two days we’ll wander Rome taking in all her Piazzas, alley-ways, world-class sites, and just soak in and photograph all that is Rome.  Tickets to The Vatican or any other museum in Rome are NOT included.  B/L/D

September 30, 2019 | Return Home From Rome

Free time until flights home – most will depart in mid to late AM.
