Itinerary
Day 1:  Arusha -
    Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport you will be meeting by our driver guide and a vehicle and transferred to Ilboru Safari Lodge in Arusha for the night. BLD
 
Day 2: Lake Manyara National Park -
     After breakfast we head to Lake Manyara to explore the many interesting areas of Lake Manyara NP. It is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including leopard, buffalo and elephant. It is famous for its elusive tree-climbing lions and hot springs. Other wildlife includes Maasai giraffe, zebra, warthog, hippo, slender mongoose, blue monkey, honey badger, porcupine, hyena, wildebeest, Coke's hartebeest and impala. The park features the highest density of baboons anywhere in Africa. Bird life is prolific as you approach the lake shore, a variety of Gulls may be spotted and may be the Vulturerine Guinea fowl, Blue napped mouse Bird and the mountain Wagtail, Overnight at Bougainvillea Safari Lodge. Day 3, 4 & 5:  Serengeti - Seronera -
   "Serengeti" means "endless plains" and today we drive west via its eastern border all the way to the central Serengeti! You will be amazed by the vast expanse of the Serengeti and we drive past a few kopjes that will bring back memories of "The Lion King"! After a couple of hours we reach the main road from Ngorongoro to the Serengeti and then it is another hour to the Seronera area. Two Tanzania endemic bird species occur in the Serengeti - the Fischer's Love bird and the Grey breasted Spurfowl. Other specialities in the Serengeti include the Usambiro Barbet, Yellow throated Sand grouse and the Silver bird...the list is endless. Wildlife like lions, hyenas, wildebeest, zebra, cape buffalo, cheetah, and more await us.  Meals and overnight at the Seronera Wildlife Lodge or wilderness luxury private mobile camp, in big tents shower and bathroom are attached to it, with real wooden off-ground beds and solar power lights installed.  It is "glamping" of sorts. Day 6 & 7: Ndutu Area -
     From Seronera, we drive to Ndutu area for two days, the Ndutu area has the common number of bird species founding in the savanna and semi arid zone. Cheetah, lions, zebra, elephant, cape buffalo, wildebeest, and more are plentiful in this area as well.   Meals and overnight at Ang'ata Migration Camp, (LBD)


Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater
Visit Ngorongoro Crater. (1B, 1L & 1D) -
    We drive direct to Ngorongoro descend into the crater for a full day crater tour, enjoy your picnic lunch in the crater floor nearby Ngoitokot water pool. Ngorongoro has a number of big games including bird’s species, kori bustard, secretary bird, bee-eater, shrike, herons, capped wheatear, stonechat, robin chats, yellow-throated long-claw and anteater chat. Other is African pied wagtail, hamerkop, crowned crane, helmeted guinea fowl, superb starling, black kite, egyptian goose, sacred ibis, yellow billed stork and egrets hunging by Ngoitokik water-pool.  Lions, wildebeest, zebra, cape buffalo, and more are plentiful here too.  You will also find Ngorongoro is a collapsed volcano creating an incredible natural amphitheater teeming with all of the African big game - lions, rhino, elephant, cape buffalo...and more.  This evening we enjoy our dinner and overnight at Bougainvillea Safari Lodge, BLD
 
Day 9: Arusha -
    Transfer from Tarangire to Arusha. Dayrooms at Ilboru Safari Lodge for shower and packing, evening transfer to the airport for flight back home.































This trip is: Easy

Easy = less than 2 miles walking/day and little climbing; Moderate = up to 5 miles walking per day with some climbing; Strenuous = more than 5 miles/day of walking and several climbing/hills/rough terrain expected.  You should know your health and ability to carry your gear in hot, cold, humid, and dry conditions and be able to walk 5 miles or more per day and make climbs in elevation of up to 1000 feet in gain and be OK climbing many steps or steep terrain.
